This is one of the best features that separates FanDuel Sportsbook from the rest of the competition. Each day FanDuel offers players a chance to win a little extra money with their “Odds Boosts” bets. What are Odds Boosts? Odds Boosts are an added value to a bet or parlay. Examples of this could include “Yankees win, and Mets lose,” and the value could be boosted from +150 to plus +200. It could also be as simple as “Serena to win Wimbledon” boosted from +100 to +175. There is a max bet associated with most Odds Boost bets, but for the added value, it is certainly worth the limitations.
Explaining How Odds Work
For those who are new to sports betting, a sportsbook can look a little confusing at first, but it is straightforward to understand everything you are seeing. You may see a number attached to a certain bet, such as +150 or -110. These are the odds that payout for that particular bet. If you see a bet selection with +150, that means for every $100 you risk, you win $150 in return. So if you bet $300, you would win $450 on that bet. When you see a -150, that will work the opposite way. You would have to wager $150 to win $100. So if a bet has a line of -120, you would need to bet $120 to win $100. If you bet $100 on that -120, you would only win $83.33.

Common Types of Bets

Money Line

For favorites, the payouts are smaller on Money Line bets. For underdogs, the payouts are higher.
Spread

Covering means an underdog doesn’t lose by the amount of the spread or more. An example of this would be if the Packers were favored by seven points. You would see Green Bay-7 in the sportsbook, and in return, you would see Dallas+7. This means if you bet the spread, the Packers have to win by more than seven for that bet to win. If you take Dallas, they can lose by as many as six points or even win the game, and you win your bet. The Spread is how a sportsbook evens the playing field for underdogs.
Total
The “Total” is another simple and common way of betting. This means you are betting the “Over” or “Under” on a specific game. In an NFL game, you could see a total of 40 points. If you bet the Under, you would need the combined score of the two teams playing in that game to be less than 40 points to win your bet. If you take the Over, any total in that game higher than 40 points will get you the win.

The weekly Thursday Night Football odds boost from FanDuel Sportsbook at MotorCity Casino has a week off to recover from its first loss.
The weekly FanDuelNFL special was 4-0 to start the season before last week’s wager for the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to score at least a touchdown in each half faltered.

MotorCity does not include an odds boost on the Detroit Lions at Jacksonville Jaguars game this Sunday.
But there is a special three-team moneyline parlay deal being offered by the book.
Bettors would need Baltimore to top Philadelphia, Pittsburgh to beat Cleveland, and Green Bay to overtake Tampa Bay to win the parlay. Odds have been boosted from +240 to +300.
The bet is available only at MotorCity Casino kiosks and there is a $200 maximum bet allowed.
FanDuel odds boosts are a common sight in Detroit
The FanDuel Thursday odds boosts were perfect in the first four weeks of the season.
The winning bets were:
- On the season’s opening night, the boosted bet had Patrick Mahomes throwing three or more touchdowns and leading Kansas City to victory against Houston. The regular +154 odds paid out at +250.
- In Week 2, in-state rivals Cincinnati and Cleveland needed to score more than 9.5 points in the first quarter with the Browns winning in the end. That +169 bet boosted to +250.
- Jacksonville and Miami played in Week 3. Both teams scoring at least a touchdown apiece in each half cashed a bet that paid off at +200, boosted from +142.
- In Week 4, Denver and the New York Jets cashed a two-leg parlay by scoring 15 or more points apiece, a bet boosted from +104 to +140.

Most Thursdays, the crowd has been strong at MotorCity, especially in the moments leading to kickoff.
MotorCity’s nearly $13 million handle in September drew closer to MGM Grand Detroit, which still leads at $14.6 million in bets.
