- 🍺 A drink to put in the middle of the table.
- 🧑🤝🧑 3+ players to drink with.
How To Play Kings
Step 1:
Shuffle a deck of cards and evenly spread them around a drink (preferably with an aluminum tab at the top) so that the deck of cards is forming a circle around the can.
Step 2:
The first player draws any card and, depending on the rule for that card, they complete whatever is required by that card.
Step 3:
Once the player’s turn is done, they then place that card under the tab of the drink. The next player then draws a card.
Chug: After a few rounds go by, the tab on the top of the drink will be close to popping, the player that puts a card under the aluminium tab and causes it to release air, must chug the drink in the middle. If you are not playing with a drink that has the aluminium tab, then you can follow the “breaking the chain” rule.
Rules For Kings Drinking Game
In order to actually start playing, you need to know the rules for Kings. Each card has its own rule, which are listed below:
Ace: Waterfall
The player that draws the ace card starts to chug their drink and the player to their left begins to chug and so on. You are only allowed to stop chugging when the person to your right stops chugging.
2: You
Whoever pulls this card points to someone at the table and says, “you”, which forces that person to take a sip of their drink.
3: Me
The person that pulls this card must take a drink.
4: Floor
When this card is pulled, everyone must either point or slap the floor. The last player to do this must take a sip of their drink.
5: Guys
All men playing the game must drink.
6: Chicks
All women playing the game must drink.
7: Heaven
All players must point to the ceiling with their arm raised, the last player to do this must drink.
8: Mate
The player that chooses this card gets to choose a “mate” or partner. If Player 1 pulls an 8, and they choose Player 2 as a mate, that means for every time that Player 1 takes a drink, Player 2 must also drink. However, this does not mean that Player 1 drinks for every time that Player 2 drinks, this card is one-directional.
9: Rhyme
The player who pulled the 9 gets to pick a starting word. The person to the left must come up with a word that rhymes with the starting word. This continues around the circle until a player either repeats a word that was already said, or they can not come up with a rhyming word within a reasonable amount of time.
10: Categories
The person that pulled this card gets to choose a category. For example, “Types of Pokemon”, “States in the US”, “Ben & Jerry’s Flavors”, etc. The person to the left continues with a word and it continues around the circle. The player that repeats a word or says a word that is not in the category, must take a drink.
Jack: Never Have I Ever
Every player puts their hand up in the air and puts three fingers up. The first player says, “Never have I ever ______”, and says something they have never done. If a player at the table has ever done what was said, they must put one finger down. The first player to have all three fingers down must drink.
Queen: Questions
The person with this card can make anyone at the table drink, if they can get a player to answer a question. For example, if Player 1 draws the Queen, they can ask, “What time is it?, or, “Player 2, where’s the bathroom?”. If the player answers the question, that player must drink. If a player answers the question with another question, they do not have to drink. The player who has the Queen can ask questions until the next Queen card is drawn.
King: New Rule
The player who draws this card can make up any rule, they can even get rid of an existing rule. For example, “Everyone must drink with their non-dominant hand”, or, “Every time a player finishes their drink, they can pick another player to finish their drink as well. A player that fails to follow the rules, takes a drink. Each rule stays in the game unless someone who pulls a King card removes the rule.
Breaking The Chain
This rule normally only comes into play if you do not have a drink with an aluminum tab. If a player draws a card and leaves a space in between the circle of cards, they must chug the drink in the middle of the table, and then refill the cup.

- The Little Man: Before anyone drinks they must move the little man off of their drink before they pick it up (this little man is invisible, so it is just a motion of moving something off of your drink).

- Mustache: When a player drinks, they must hold their finger above their lip like they have a mustache.
- Whispers: All players must whisper when they speak.
The Kings Cup drinking game is a card game for any number of players (although we suggest at least 3). In this game players flip cards and perform actions. As players draw the four kings they pour their drinks into a cup, and the final player to draw one must chug it.
